Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation

A More Gentle, Natural Rejuvenation

Facial AcupunctureThe practice of acupuncture to enhance beauty in China known as “Mei Rong” dates back to China’s Song Dynasty (960-1279 A.D.) when it was used by the Royal Empress and the Emperor’s concubines.

Today Cosmetic Acupuncture is a comprehensive, effective and natural alternative to injections and facelifts. Treatment that can re-sculpt the face, neck and jaw areas and decrease wrinkles and promote a glowing complexion. In addition, supporting your overall health.

In Eastern medicine, the cosmetic signs of aging and physical symptoms are the same and traced to a weakness or disharmony in one or more of five Chinese Organ pairs.

Organ weaknesses affect us physically, emotionally, and spiritually and can prevent us from looking and feeling healthy and energetic.

These weaknesses are caused by deficiencies of Qi (chee) and Blood.

Qi and Blood

Qi is a powerful force of energy that travels throughout the Organ systems via invisible pathways called Meridians. Similarly like the flow of electricity through a wire network that allows light to fill a room.

Facial AcupunctureThe electrical current is Qi and the wires are Meridians. If your vital energy is not flowing optimally, like a room – your lights dim.

Blood is an energy similar to Qi and they travel together through the Organs and Meridians. Blood is vital as it keeps our insides moist and our skin soft and supple. When Blood is lacking, your skin looks dry, wrinkles develop and you feel tired.

The Circle of Life

Organs have specific functions that encompass the physical, emotional, and spiritual. Qi and Blood course through the Organs in a continuum, creating a Circle of Life.

For example, when the Spleen is weak, cosmetically you’ll exhibit sagging facial muscles and rather than being nurturing you might become overbearing.

When your Lungs are affected, your skin condition changes and you are susceptible to dry skin or breakouts; interest in life may change to indifference.

If your Heart becomes hindered, you’re prone to broken capillaries and skin irritation. Your zest for fun and entertainment might wane and your emotions may fly out of control.

Liver irregularities lead to wrinkles and you may grow angry and intolerant.

If your Kidneys slow down, the aging process accelerates and you might become fearful or withdrawn.

The Color of Foods and the Organs They Nourish

  • Yellow is for Spleen and include spaghetti squash and sweet potatoes, butternut squash and yams
  • White is for Lungs and include potatoes, tofu and whitefish
  • Red is for the Heart and include beets, red snapper and berries
  • Green is for the Liver and include green apples, kiwis and most green vegetables
  • Black/dark bluish is for Kidneys and foods such as black beans, blueberries, blackberries and black sesame seeds

What you eat plays an intricate part in the way you feel and general nutritional recommendations will be made based on your Organ type. More custom and intensive nutritional consultations are available by appointment.

The face reflects the health of your body, inside and out. Cosmetic Acupuncture will do wonders for the way you look, the way you feel, and for your confidence and self-esteem.

This is how acupuncture treats disease or helps to erase the signs of aging.

When imbalances are corrected, the Circle of Life is renewed. The result is greater internal health and external appearance.

Treatment is designed to rejuvenate your appearance by:

  • Reducing wrinkles and deeper creases
  • Eliminating fine lines
  • Tightens pores
  • Lightening dark circles under your eyes
  • Decreasing eye and face puffiness
  • Lifting sagging muscles in your cheeks, chin and brow
  • Improving the quality of your skin
  • Renewing a radiant and rosy glow to your skin
  • Restoring the sparkle in your eyes

Facial AcupunctureWhat clients say they like the most is the natural radiant look that shows they are aging gracefully and beautifully (or handsomely) in a way that defies their years.

Eastern and Western medicine agree that wrinkles are formed from repeated muscle contraction. The Chinese further blame wrinkles on Organ imbalances.

The two take a different approach to correcting the condition. Plastic surgeons address facial aging by performing surgery or using injections rather than treating the cause of the problem – loss of muscle tone and Organ imbalance.

Cosmetic Acupuncture targets specific points to lift, tone, and balance muscle integrity, improve skin quality, and restore Organ health.

The result is an improved facial condition plus improved vitality and well-being.

The Five Organ Types and What They Do:

Kidneys store and produce Qi and distribute it to the other Organs. They are responsible for the overall vitality and quality of your appearance. They govern the overall aging process.

Spleen Takes food and beverages we consume, turns the good nourishment into Essence and sends it to other Organs. Spleen governs the health, tone, and integrity of the muscles of your face and body.

Lungs receive the Essence of food and beverages from the Spleen and mix it with the air your body absorbs to make Qi then circulate it through the body. Lungs govern the health of skin and the size and integrity of the skin’s pores.

Heart absorbs Spleen Essence and turns it into Blood and fluids and circulates it through the body. Heart is responsible for the colon and the vitality of the complexion.

Liver rules the movement and fluidity of Qi and the way Blood flows through the face and body. Liver is responsible for the relaxation and contraction of muscles, tendons, and ligaments and the way the skin wrinkles.

In Chinese medicine, health and appearance are measured by the vitality of all the Organs functioning both independently and in relation to one another.

When you are out of balance, you fall prey to negative consequences in all aspects of your life health, personality, physical appearance, and mental stability.
